Juventus Firm Up Their Interest In Former Serie A Midfielder As Replacement For Douglas Luiz

With just two signings so far this summer, it is proving to be a different and difficult transfer window for Italian giants, Juventus as the club is forced to deal with the consequences of their spending spree in the last summer transfer window under Thiago Motta.

Consequently, they’re trying to complete a series of sales to fund a move for Sporting midfielder Morten Hjulmand as they continue to work on the departure of Everton and West Ham target Douglas Luiz and this is after selling Timothy Weah to Marseille, which is reported to be nearing competition.

For general manager, Damien Comolli, he continues to work hard on potential sales of Luiz and potentially Argentine winger Nico Gonzalez and according to Corriere dello Sport, Sporting want any club interested in Hjulmand to pay his full €60m release clause in his contract.

However, the Bianconeri are hoping that a deal can be agreed in the region of €30m-40m as the reports Indicate that Juve have a preliminary agreement with the former Lecce midfielder already, with a four-year contract worth €3m per season prepared for the Danish international.

Meanwhile, the report has it that they’re also interested in signing an additional defender – with Atletico Madrid’s Nahuel Molina and Monaco’s Wilfried Singo named as potential options and for that to happen, they need to find a new club for Samuel Mbangula.

In a related development, the Old Lady have set a deadline for themselves to complete a deal with PSG to bring Randal Kolo Muani back to the club. According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juve want to have a deal wrapped up, and for Kolo Muani to be in Turin before August 13.

This is the date for their pre-season friendly against their Under-23 side also known as the Next Gen at the Allianz Stadium, which will also be attended by the likes of John Elkann and other members of the senior management team.

Furthermore, the report claims that they’re still confident of getting a deal done with PSG on a permanent basis after his successful loan spell earlier in 2025, which brought eight Serie A goals from 16 outings. PSG, who spent a reported €75m to sign Kolo Muani two years ago.

Hence, they’re reportedly holding out for at least €50m to sell the Frenchman this summer. Juventus, meanwhile, are prepared to offer a total package of €45m, albeit in the form of a loan with a future option to buy that will become an obligation under easily achievable circumstances.

This is according to Calciomercato which went further to report that Juventus are prepared to offer a fee of €10m to sign Kolo Muani on loan for the season, with a future buy option for an additional €35m, using UCL qualification or a specific number of appearances to make it an obligation.
