It is now looking like a crisis mode for Italian giants, Juventus after they conceded 3 goals without reply against Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi stadium, this is just one week after that humiliating defeat suffered at the Allianz Stadium against Atalanta. With these results, it is clear that they’re now out of the Serie A title race.

Furthermore, they might even struggle to make it into top four this season, with a rejuvenated Bologna currently taking the last spot in the race for UCL football for next season. After the result in Florence, their manager, Thiago Motta confirmed that he won’t resign and their sporting director also raised a rallying cry to the team.

The Bianconeri suffered the second consecutive loss and have conceded seven goals in the last two games, scoring none, and Bologna’s win over Lazio pushed them outside the top four.Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli said Motta would not be sacked, and the Old Lady’s boss said he would not resign.

“It would be too easy to do that, and I don’t like easy things,” Motta told DAZN. “We need to win; we have to find a way to get the points we need to achieve our goal, which is to finish in the top four of the league.” He went on to explain Juventus’ second consecutive loss. “It’s a bit like a continuation of the last match, the same story,” he said.

“We start well, but at the first difficulty, just like against Atalanta, we fail to react. We need to improve. Today, we are not strong in either phase of the game. We have to get these guys back on track. I think we showed a different side before these last two matches, and our reaction was always very good.”

Juventus are now fifth in the Serie A table, one point below Bologna. They have already been eliminated from the Coppa Italia and the Champions League. The former Bologna manager signed a three-year contract with Juventus last summer, so his deal in Turin runs out in June 2027.

For the team, they will return to the pitch on March 29 after the international break, hosting Genoa at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Meanwhile, club legend, Alessandro Del Piero also believes that the serious issue in the disappointing loss against Fiorentina was the team’s lack of reaction.

“It’s difficult for me to comment; I’m emotionally involved,” Del Piero told Sky Sport Italia. “The serious issue is that there was no reaction. This was a night that did not reflect the Juventus spirit at all. You can lose but with your head held high. Today, no one, neither on the bench nor in management, can be at peace or say they gave everything.

“There was no reaction on the field, none on the bench. The substitutions were three defenders; there must have been a reason, but this is a broader issue, a matter of mentality,” Del Piero continued. “There is no reaction here, nothing at all. Credit to Fiorentina, who faced difficult moments and came through them.”

“Teams go through tough times, and Fiorentina handled theirs by coming together with their coach. Seven goals conceded in two matches. There’s not much else to say about Juventus.” He further added. Del Piero is Juventus’ best scorer in the club’s history and the player with the most appearances.
