And they’re now ready to move decisively for two of their targets that would help their squad depth. Two players are on their list, Alexis Saelemaekers and Emil Holm looks to be the next target even though they already have an agreement for Michel Di Gregorio.
But they can’t complete his signing until they sort out the future of Wojciech Szczesny. For Saelemaekers, he spent last season on loan at Bologna from AC Milan, so he has a good rapport with Motta.

The Juventus manager had requested his former club to sign the winger, and their collaboration was successful. Bologna will almost not likely retain the Belgian, and AC Milan is seeking a new destination for him, which aligns well for Juventus. Motta is keen to reunite with Saelemaekers, and Juventus is expected to pursue him in the upcoming weeks.
However, according to a report from Italy, Juventus is not the only Serie A club interested in signing him; Atalanta is also keen. They’re also reportedly monitoring Holm since his time at Spezia while they were in Serie A, and he joined Atalanta last season following Spezia’s relegation from the Italian top flight.
The Swede had a successful season at Atalanta, notably winning the Europa League. Now, there is speculation whether he could be reunited with Motta at Juventus. He previously worked with Motta during their time together at Spezia, which adds to Juventus’ interest in bringing the 24-year-old to Turin.
Tuttojuve reports that Juventus is set to intensify their pursuit of Holm in the coming weeks after Atalanta decided against making his move permanent. They want to try and negotiate, to reduce his transfer fee.
The plan is for the Bianconeri to plan the 4-3-3 formation under Motta, as against the 3-5-2 that they regularly played under their previous manager, Massimiliano Allegri.
Meanwhile…
There is believed to be no significant progress on the Joshua Zirkzee situation, as Milan are still trying to lower the commission and Manchester United are only showing interest in the Bologna striker.
There were reports today from Sky Sports that Manchester United were preparing to activate the €40m release clause in his contract. However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano assures that Bologna have not been informed of this, so it remains purely at the stage of showing interest.

Milan, on the other hand, already told Bologna weeks ago that they would pay the necessary figure and agreed personal terms with the Dutch striker. The only issue holding up the transfer to San Siro is the €15m commission demanded by agent Kira Joorabchian, which Milan do not want to pay as a matter of principle.
It Is not the first time the club has taken a stand against large commissions, which has seen them abandon deals in the past and even lose players as free agents. Juventus and Arsenal are also showing interest, much like Manchester United, but the only club that has agreed personal terms with Zirkzee is Milan.
