With these issues on ground, the club is looking for solutions for the present while also planning ahead for the future. Consequently, according to a report from Tuttosport, the Turin-based club have sent an improved offer to sign Jean-Philippe Mateta after seeing their first offer rejected.

It will be a loan move with a mandatory option to buy if they qualify for any European competition this season as the Bianconeri have been pushing to sign the Crystal Palace striker. The plan is to bring the Frenchman to Turin before Sunday’s Serie A big match against Napoli.

After seeing their opening offer for Mateta was rejected by Palace last week, the Old Lady have now made a second proposal and according to the report, the new offer is worth €2.5m for a loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy for €3.5m at the end of the season.

The option to buy will become mandatory if Juventus qualify for any European competition this season and according to the report, the EPL club have already decreased their asking price for Mateta, demanding €35m in the January transfer window, €10m less than the price set over the summer.

On the other hand, Juventus have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Mateta over a four-year contract worth €3.5m per season but according to a separate report from Sky Sport, they must also find an agreement over agent commissions too to finally conclude the deal.

In a related development, Gleison Bremer has revealed the advice he got from Italy and Bianconeri legends Alessandro Del Piero and Giorgio Chiellini, regarding defending and how to return stronger after a knee injury as he makes a return after a second serious injury.

Bremer has been struggling with physical issues over the last year as he sustained a knee injury in October 2024 and, more recently, underwent an arthroscopic selective meniscectomy on the medial meniscus of his left knee but he still remains a first choice for the club under different managers.

The Brazilian has been a key Juventus player under Spalletti, and even scored a goal in seven appearances across all competitions but they suffered a defeat in their last Serie A match against Cagliari, despite dominating proceedings and the former Torino star reacted to that defeat.

“If you play well, it usually works. In recent years, speaking in general, the teams that dominate the game have won,” Bremer told Corriere della Sera. The Brazilian defender surely is a fan of Spalletti’s playing style. “I like it because we often have the ball and so I get less tired,” said the defender.

“Sometimes I tell myself: ‘Damn, this way I don’t even feel the weight of the injury.” He then went on to reveal his role models: “Lucio. Then, once, Mazzarri told me I had some of Chiellini’s characteristics and that I should watch him. We got in touch, and now he’s a mentor.” He continued.

Chiellini and Bremer didn’t play together at Juventus, but the ex-defender still gave precious advice to his successor at the Allianz Stdium: “In my first year here, Chiellini told me: ‘You have to watch the man too, not just the ball.’ He’s right, I’ve always thought that even though I’m Brazilian.”

“The ball has never gone into the goal by itself.” He further added. Bremer spent eight months on the sidelines following his knee injury last season, so what did he learn during his time off the pitch? “I learned to play the guitar, an old passion of mine, and I had time for my family,” he revealed.

“Sometimes my daughter Agata, 5 years old, would tell me: ‘Dad, don’t get hurt anymore.’ And then I read books. The Art of War and philosophy essays, especially Aristotle. Authors ahead of their time, with deep visions and thoughts. And then, during the rehab, the stories of Roberto Baggio and Alessandro Del Piero.”

“I wanted to understand how to come back after a serious injury.“Once, I ran into Alex at the J-Medical. He told me: ‘Take it easy, don’t rush and improve your mobility.’” He concluded. Up next for the Bianconeri is a Champions League encounter against Jose Mourinho’s Benfica
