Juventus Willing To Sacrifice Two Youngsters To Fund Their January Transfer Plans
Written By Onyeka Daniel
It was a huge spending spree for Juventus in the last summer transfer window as they embarked on an overhauling of their squad to beef up their squad for Thiago Motta, and with the January transfer window fast approaching, that decision may prove to be costly for them as they’ve lesser room to maneuver in their bid to further reinforce the team that has been depleted by injuries.

But there seems to be a solution available and just like in the summer, the club is ready to sacrifice some of their promising players to fund their transfer plans once again. Which is why according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri are ready to listen to French club, PSG and their new interest in Nicolò Fagioli. This will potentially pave the way for a swap deal involving Milan Skriniar or Randal Kolo Muani.

According to the report, the Ligue 1 giants PSG opened preliminary talks with the Italian midfielder. PSG’s move could lead to negotiations between the clubs, with Juventus interested in ex-Inter centre-back Skriniar. The Slovakian is struggling for playing time in Paris and has emerged as one of the primary Juventus targets to replace the injured Gleison Bremer in the January transfer window.
Skriniar has reportedly given the green light to join Juventus in January, but the two clubs are not yet in talks. Also, Skriniar wants a permanent transfer in the winter transfer window or a loan with an option or obligation to buy, while Juve are ready to negotiate an initial loan deal but would need PSG to pay part of the salary to help facilitate the transfer.
The report further claims the Bianconeri are also interested in Kolo Muani, so Fagioli could be included in negotiations for the PSG pair. In a related development, Fagioli is the subject of a new documentary on his gambling addiction and ban, revealing the worst moments when he was ‘stuck in a bubble.’ The player went to his club and then to the authorities.
Thereafter, he confessed on his addiction and how he had been participating in illegal gambling, starting the process of getting help. This also meant accepting a ban, while it sparked a wider investigation into other players like Sandro Tonali who also received bans. Now Fagioli is trying to share his story and help others in a similar position to find a way through, so Amazon Prime Italia will release ‘Fragile – The Story of Nicolò Fagioli’ on November 26.
A few clips have been released to the media where he talks about how he got sucked into the addiction. “I started to bet large sums when I was with the Under-23 team, that’s where I started to bet more money than was normal,” confessed Fagioli. “The truth is, I wasn’t even gambling to win money. I didn’t need it. I gambled for the adrenaline that it gave me and that was the biggest problem, really.

“In my worst period, I would spend 12-13 hours glued to my phone and it just flew by like a couple of hours, you just did not realise what was happening.“I felt like I was stuck in this bubble and didn’t notice anything outside of it. People would ask me questions, I’d reply, but then an hour later I’d realise none of it had sunk in and I don’t even know what they said to me.” He further added.
