The Kansas City Current are preparing to host the first-ever Teal Rising Cup, presented by Visit Missouri, this summer at CPKC Stadium, which is the first stadium specifically designed for women’s professional soccer, as announced by the club on Wednesday. This four-team tournament is scheduled for July 12 and 15, featuring the Kansas City Current, fellow National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team Chicago Stars FC, and Brazilian Serie A1 clubs Corinthians SC and Palmeiras.

The Teal Rising Cup presented by Visit Missouri will include doubleheaders at CPKC Stadium on both matchdays, culminating in a consolation and championship match on July 15.

“Hosting the inaugural Teal Rising Cup at CPKC Stadium with this world-class caliber competition will be an incredible opportunity for our players to experience top talent from across the world,” stated Kansas City Current general manager Caitlin Carducci. “Showcasing both our facilities and this incredible professional talent not only enhances our club but also provides a broader platform for promoting women’s sports on both national and global stages.”

The Teal Rising Cup presented by Visit Missouri kicks off on Saturday, July 12, with Chicago Stars FC facing off against Corinthians SC at 4:30 p.m. CT in the first match. Following that, the Kansas City Current will compete against Palmeiras at approximately 8 p.m. in the second match.

Action will resume at CPKC Stadium on Tuesday, July 15, with the third-place game starting at 5 p.m. The champion of the inaugural Teal Rising Cup will be decided in a showdown between the winners of the first and second matches at around 8 p.m.

We eagerly anticipate welcoming Corinthians and Palmeiras to the States.”
