After head coach Matt Potter’s abrupt dismissal last week, Kansas City Current General Manager Camille Ashton spoke to the media on Friday.

“As you’re all aware, we started the season 0-3 as a club,” she said in a statement.
“We were frustrated with the losses and the start of the season.”
Ashton denied the decision warranted an NWSL investigation or that it related to 2023 draft pick Mykiaa Minniss’ allegations of “less than professional” treatment.
“I and the organization are sorry to hear that she has been dealing with the things that came to light,” Ashton said.
“We certainly were not aware of that, and we hope, genuinely, that she’s doing okay, most importantly.”
Minniss responded to the GM on Twitter: “Sorry to hear about the things I experienced or sorry for your part in it?”

OL Reign continued their winning ways, scoring a whopping five goals in a 5-2 win over the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday.
Bethany Balcer and Jess Fishlock notched a brace apiece, the first time in OL Reign history two players have scored multiple goals in the same game.

Megan Rapinoe also forced a Chicago own goal off of a well-taken free kick.
The Reign scored their five goals on just five shots on goal in an impressive display of efficiency.
The team also continued their showy celebrations, with Rapinoe issued a yellow card for providing a prop from the bench and Fishlock breaking out a dance inspired by her nephew.
“When the league steps up their celebrations, we have to too,” Balcer said after the game.
