Kaoru Mitoma Signs New Four-Year Contract At Brighton
Written by Albert Echatah
Kaoru Mitoma has extended his contract with Brighton & Hove Albion by four more years, keeping him with the seagulls through 2027.
More Details
The 26-year-old’s previous contract with the Premier League club expired in 2025, and The Athletic reported earlier this month that he was close to finalizing a new one. Mitoma’s new contract is expected to make him one of Brighton’s highest-paid players.
Brighton technical director David Weir said: “Ensuring that a player of Kaoru’s quality will remain with us for the long term is fantastic news. Kaoru adapted to the Premier League last season and has quickly become one of our most important players.
“His success also reflects the work of the departments that played a role in his recruitment, helping him gain important experience on loan and ultimately becoming a big part of Roberto’s first-team group.”
Mitoma has continued to play in the Epl this season, making eight games and recording three goals and three assists. Brighton’s next game is on Saturday against EPL champions Manchester City.

Meanwhile…
Erik ten Hag is anxious to prevent Jadon Sancho from making a “empty gesture,” therefore Manchester United is apparently willing to accept a “significant loss” on him.
Sancho has a disruptive impact on the rest of United’s team, according to manager Ten Hag, who is determined to get rid of the winger.
This season, Sancho and Ten Hag had a nasty falling out, with the Dutchman publicly criticizing his player in the media for his lack of effort in practice. After spending £73 million on him in 2021, United is now willing to suffer a “significant loss” on the player in the January transfer window.
