Ten years have passed since the Galaxy defeated the New England Revolution in 2014 to win a record-tying fifth MLS championship with a squad that included Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan.
With former England and Manchester United star David Beckham in their midfield, the team dominated MLS and won three trophies in four years.
When LA Galaxy placed second in the Western Conference last season and its disgruntled supporters lost faith in the club’s owners and coaching staff, those heydays under coach Bruce Arena seemed so far away.
However, LA Galaxy have developed into one of the league’s most exciting, attacking sides, proving coach Greg Vanney correct when he stated last season that the team was in transition.
Despite finishing second in the Western Conference to cross-city rivals Los Angeles FC, the Californian team has been playing at its peak in the postseason.

In three games, the Galaxy have scored fifteen goals. They thrashed the Colorado Rapids 5-0 and 4-1 in their best-of-three first-round series before last week’s 6-2 mauling of Minnesota United in the Conference semi.
The Galaxy were at their best in that match, with striker Dejan Joveljic, wingers Gabriel Pec and Joseph Paintsil, and elegant Spanish playmaker Riqui Puig all scoring twice.
“The way we play is to be aggressive and to be bold and to take risks and to go for it,” said the coach.
“We’re not a hang out, sit back, be conservative team. That’s not the way we do it. We go and we live with the consequences at the end of the day. We react when situations don’t go well and we go for it when we do,” he added.
