Despite a strong fightback, LA Galaxy lost the second leg of their quarterfinal match against Tigres UANL 3-2 (3-2 aggregate) on Tuesday night, eliminating them from the Concacaf Champions League.

At the Estadio Universitario, LA Galaxy were down by two goals in the first ten minutes after goals from Uriel Antuna and Nicolás Ibáñez in quick succession.

Just before halftime, Joseph Paintsil cut the lead after beating goalie Nahuel Guzmán to a back pass and shooting from close range.
Early in the second half, Rômulo Zwarg gave Tigres a two-goal lead again, but three minutes later, Emiro Garcés gave the Galaxy another goal.
The away goals rule would have pushed LA to the semifinals if they had equalised, but the third goal never materialised, and Tigres advanced to the next round.
