During the unveiling ceremony of Lewandowski, Barcelona president, Joan Laporta expressed optimism on the issue and was confident that they wouldn’t face the same issue that they faced last season.
He highlighted the importance of the three economic levers activated by the club and awaits the response from the League governing body before taking their next course of action.
However, Barca’s attempts to register their new contractual arrivals failed on Friday – with La Liga blocking their attempts to log the deals on their system. Quite simply, the Catalan club now must raise further funds in order to allow their new signings to represent the club.
Laporta already said that he’s ready to activate a fourth economic lever while the club also have the option of selling players, with Dutch pair, Frenkie De Jong and Memphis Depay as the top pick.
For Depay, he’s said to be in talks with Juventus over a move but Barcelona will have to terminate his contract to help the deal. For de Jong, he’s a transfer target for both Manchester United and Chelsea, while a swap deal with Manchester City has also been mentioned lately.

Villarreal defender, Alfonso Pedraza is attracting the interest of Italian clubs with Inter Milan, Juventus and Atalanta listed among his suitors.
He caught the eyes of top European clubs last season as the Yellow Submarines had a great campaign in Europe and the player is said to be looking to take the next leap in his career and ready to jump ship at the slightest opportunity.

With Villarreal set to play Inter Milan today in a warmup game before the season kicks off next week, the Nerazzurri will be able to monitor the player up close.
But a move will be dependent on different variables, as they have to sell Milan Skriniar first and also determine if Robin Gosens will be fit enough to stay injury free for the coming season.
