The speculations has been rife all summer and it looks like it’s finally going to happen, as confirmed directly from the club.
The Nigerian striker was missing during Almeria’s final pre-season friendly against Al-Hilal on Sunday. Speaking to Mundo Deportivo before the match, CEO Mohamed El Assy confirmed a sale was close.
“Umar Sadiq has not travelled to England to avoid any type of injury that could stop a transfer that is close at this time. He will be sold for a little less than €30m. We have 12-13 other players that have received offers, they are players who have a prestige in the market and you hope that they have a great future.”
While there was no mention of a club that is making the purchase, fellow La Liga side, Villarreal have been linked with a move for the player throughout the summer.
German side, Borussia Dortmund are also on the lookout for a striker after selling Erling Haaland and his replacement, Sebastian Haller was ruled out for several months, after undergoing surgery for a malignant testicular tumor.

Juventus have received further boost in their bid to sign unwanted Barcelona forward, Memphis Depay, after the player was reportedly not issued with a jersey number, going into the new season that will kick off this weekend.

It should be recalled that new signing, Robert Lewandowski was assigned the number 9 jersey, even though it was worn by Depay and the Dutchman is still on the payroll of the Blaugrana.
This move is expected to reinforce to the player that he’s unwanted at the club and should start considering his future elsewhere. Juventus have been interested in the player, but they’re reluctant to pay the €20 million quoted price to sign him, as they would prefer he terminate his contract with Barca instead and join as a free agent.
