Written By Onyeka Daniel
The war of words between La Liga president, Javier Tebas and Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, doesn’t seem to be abetting anytime soon and they will be going head to head this Friday.
More Details
After the La Liga-CVC (Project Impulse) deal was presented and widely accepted by clubs in the Spanish La Liga and lower division, only four clubs rejected the deal but they are now only three.

These three clubs (Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao) headed by Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez have presented a counter proposal (Project Sustainable) to the La Liga-CVC deal and they have appealed in an open letter on Tuesday for the support of other clubs.
Tebas was very critical of the project sustainable, especially in the wake of the failed attempts to launch the Super League.
“LaLiga cannot be in thrall to a club which after more than three years of secretly planning the Super League project, presented it just six months ago fully aware of the lethal threat it posed to our league,” read a LaLiga statement.
“With misleading arguments, disguising themselves as a movement for salvation for all clubs and threatening LaLiga. “Exactly as they are doing now.” The Super League fiasco will still be relatively fresh in most clubs’ minds, or so LaLiga hope, and they believe that Real Madrid, who they see as the ring leader of this counter proposal, are purely looking out for the wealthier sides once again.
“[Their] operation is not possible for many of the clubs who will never be able to use the financing for developing their project and even less so to grow as a club,” says the statement released on Tuesday.
“The LaLiga Impulse operation is a strategic partnership to grow in the future, not simply a financing deal as proposed by the rival project. “This is not, in any way, exclusively LaLiga’s project. As is evident, it will only be carried out if approved by a vast majority of clubs at the General Assembly.”
On Friday, project Impulse (La Liga-CVC) will go up against project sustainable (Perez’s) in the La Liga general assembly votes for which one to adopt.
Meanwhile…
Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti believes that his team has enough quality to win the La Liga title this season and also compete for the UEFA Champions League trophy this season.
The Italian was speaking in the post match conference after his team defeated Inter Milan 2-0, at the Santiago Bernabeu to cement their place as group leaders, with the Italians qualifying as second placed team to the knockout stage.
“We have the quality to win LaLiga and the quality to compete in the Champions League. “There are no teams with the quality to win the Champions League, but to compete yes.
“There are more intense teams, others with more quality. “We are not an intense team in the defensive aspect, we cannot defend on an open pitch, but we have a lot of quality, a lot of experience and a lot of commitment.”
The Los Blancos will now turn their attention to domestic duties as they prepare to face title rivals, Atletico Madrid on Sunday in what could prove to be a potential title decider as the Los Blancos are already 7 points ahead of their rivals on the La Liga table
