The Italian is currently in Singapore meeting with Peter Lim about becoming the coach of the Valencia. The Los Che are expected to undergo several changes this summer, with a number of players expected to be sold, which is being reported to be the reason behind the expected departure of Bordalas.

Valencia will have to pay Bordalas €700,000 in compensation for breaking their two-year agreement. Gattuso was put forward by super agent Jorge Mendes, who is expected to play an important role in Valencia’s re-structuring.

It seems like a match made in heaven as Gattuso will become the tenth coach of the club since Peter Lim took over the ownership of the club, while it will be Gattuso’s eight coaching job in his career, since retiring from football in 2013.

Since then, he has coached Sion, Palermo, Ofi Crete, Pisa, AC Milan youth team before moving to the main team in 2017. He left the role in 2019 and was subsequently appointed as the coach of Napoli, staying there from 2019 to 2021, he has been without a job since then.

Meanwhile…

AC Milan are said to be considering moving for Atletico Madrid winger, Yannick Carrasco, should they end of selling their star player, Rafeal Leao. With a release clause that is set at a certain figure, the Rossoneri are not open to a sale.

But they could be forced to do so and the club management don’t want to be left flat-footed and are already looking at options that they can bring in. Carrasco has been an ever present figure for Diego Simeone this season, no matter the formation and with a release clause of €60 million.

It would be a huge gain for the Italian Champions if they sell Leao and get Carrasco, but it would be a huge downgrade, especially if they want to defend their Scudetto and also do better than their group stage elimination in Europe for the coming campaign.
