Real Madrid maintained their perfect start to the season with a hard-fought victory at Anoeta, making it four wins from four in LaLiga.

Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring to put Los Blancos in front, but the game took a dramatic turn on the half-hour mark when Gil Manzano sent off Huijsen with a straight red card for a foul on Oyarzábal.

Despite being reduced to ten men, Madrid doubled their advantage before the break as Arda Güler converted from a clever pass by Mbappé.

The hosts pulled one back in the second half through an Oyarzábal penalty, yet Madrid’s resilience saw them hold firm and take all three points.

Mbappé came close to adding a third goal with a brilliant solo run, weaving past two defenders before unleashing a strike from the edge of the area, only to see his effort drift just wide of the post.

From there, Real Madrid focused on protecting their advantage, with the defense standing firm and Courtois producing key saves to ensure the visitors held on for a well-earned three points.

Xabi Alonso and his team will now turn their attention to the UCL home clash against Marseille.
