Lais Araújo: Brazilian Player Joins Famalicão

The former Brazilian U-20 women’s football team captain has joined the Portuguese side, Famalicão from Spanish Primera Division Women’s league side, Madrid CFF.
Lais dos Santos Araujo, 25, has played college soccer with ASA College and Florida Gators. She featured for Arna-Bjorna (Sweden), Adelaide United (Australia), and Apollon Limassol from 2019 to 2020 before switching to Madrid CFF.

Araujo represented Brazil at the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after coming into the limelight via a documentary titled “Warriors of a Beautiful Game”.
The documentary which examined the state of women’s football in various countries brought Araujo to the attention of Pele.
