The first leg of this crucial two-part contest will take place at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys as Barcelona look to get a leverage, taking advantage of the home fans’ support after which they will then travel to the Metropolitano Stadium for the second leg which is scheduled for April 2nd.

The 17 year old is expected to be fit in time for the game after missing the team training session today but if he doesn’t, he’s expected to be named on the bench for the clash with head coach Hansi Flick offering no report on his situation during his pressers.

Yamal on his part is currently pushing hard to participate in the crucial game against Atlético Madrid, despite grappling with a foot injury as per Sport. However, the club’s medical staff prioritizing the player’s long-term health have taken precautionary measures by preventing him from participating in Monday’s training session.

While the club has not definitively ruled Yamal out of contention, the next 24 hours will be critical in assessing the progression of his foot injury. This period will determine not only his availability for the match but also the extent to which he can contribute.

Speaking to the club’s media, Flick admitted to the challenge against a solid team as Diego Simeon’s side but he expects his team to give their best performance while offering no glimpse on Yamal’s availability.

“Atlético Madrid are a great team. They have invested a lot in the squad and they are doing really well. They have the best defence and going forward they have some great players. We will have to be at our best.

“We are going for it in every game. We want to show what we can do. The team’s mentality is excellent, their attitude as well, but above all the atmosphere. That’s what I like best. We need the fans to help us for this really tough tie,” Flick concluded.
