Laver Cup: Team Europe Rally Back To 8-4 Lead On Day 2

Team Europe leads on day two after three match ups of great tennis on Saturday.

It was two all at the start of day two between team world and team Europe after an emotionally-laden day following the final farewell of Roger Federer.

Matteo Berrettini of Europe started the day by taking the first two points pf the day for the world team with a win over world representative, Auger-Aliassime.

Matteo Berrettini beat Auger-Aliassime 7-6(11), 4-6, (10-7), giving Team Europe a 4-2 lead over Team World.

However, by the second match, Taylor Fritz got things balance a head defeated team Europe’s Cameron Norrie.

Fritz needed only 23 minutes to take the opening set against Cameron Norrie, 6-1, but Norrie dug deep to bag the second set, clinching it 6-4.

By the third set, Team World’s Fritz survived a roller coaster battle with Norrie of Team Europe to bring the Laver Cup score to 4-4. It’s ends 6-1, 4-6, 10-8.

Meanwhile…

By the evening session it was fireworks with the blue corner team Europe represented by former world number one, Novak Djokovic against Frances Tiafoe in the red corner for the worlds.

Djokovic swung back the lead for Europe with a straight set win over Tiafoe 6-1, 6-4.

Then came the doubles as team Europe wrapped up the day with an 8-4 lead after Djokovic/Berrettini combo dislodged Minaur/Sock in straight sets.

It was a 7-5 win in the first set, 6-2 win in the second set and that meant the blue corner heads into day 3 with the four points lead.
