Koutsias scored his first goal for the Fire in all competitions this season, and Gutiérrez recorded his fourth assist of 2024.

Just before the half, Sporting KC equalised when midfielder Rémi Walter’s free kick was knocked in at the back post by defender Robert Castellanos in the 39th minute.

This Sunday afternoon, Queretaro made their Leagues Cup debut against New York City FC. Given how the MLS has dominated the competition, the Mexican team found the match to be difficult.

Guillermo Allison was the squad’s star after making at least a few stops that were crucial to keeping the score at zero during the first half’s extremely threatening opportunities created by the MLS team.

Mauro Gerk’s team made alterations to their shape for the second half, but they stayed in midfield the entire time, making it hard to fend off the New Yorkers’ determined attack. The penalties occurred after a scoreless 90 minutes.
