“He’s a player that I really admire very much.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrived at San Siro six months after Leao and the young winger earlier disclosed that the Swedish legend is like an ‘older brother’ to him.
Rafael Leao has played all 16 competitive games so far this term, contributing five goals across Serie A and the Champions League.
With Portugal playing on Wednesday playing Ireland and Serbia on Sunday at the World cup qualifiers, Leao disclosed the Selecao expect two finals.
“We face a strong competitive team [Rep of Ireland],” Leoa said at a press conference as quoted by Footballitalia. “But we enter with the desire to win because we are Portugal, it’s important to score points.
“We expect two finals, we don’t play for a draw. We want to win both games to climb to the top of the group. Ireland and Serbia are two very strong teams, maybe we will be a bit nervous about qualifying, but we will be focused and with our qualities, we will be strong.”
Meanwhile…
Milan centre-back, Fikayo Tomori gave a subtle jab to what was meant to be a troll on social media in relation to the manner in which he celebrated Stefan de Vrij’s own goal in the Derby della Madonnina.
The English defender celebrated as if he had scored the goal and SempreMilan sent him a comment on Twitter saying: “We can pretend it was yours.”
But Tomori joked he would gladly take the own goal from De Vrij and replied to the tweet: “I’m happy with this.”
Tomori is still searching for his first in 2021-22 in the Rossoneri shirt and that explains the tweet from SempreMilan.
