Former Chelsea and France great, Frank Leboeuf was wowed watching the youngster at the wheel of his powers as he seemed on most occasions unplayable for Wilfred Zaha.
Speaking on ESPN, Leboeuf admitted he was close to tears after witnessing Chalobah’s incredible moment against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
“I almost had tears in my eyes when I saw him scoring and the celebration, that was absolutely fantastic,” admitted Lebouef.
Meanwhile…
Chalobah may have earned himself a priceless spot on the Chelsea team thereby casting serious doubt on Chelsea’s pursuit of Sevilla centre back Joules Kounde who has been on the blues radar since the beginning of the summer. Both players at the same age have had a considerable level of experiences for their age but it is Kounde who has seen it more on the biggest stages as he helped Sevilla to a fourth place finish in la liga last season earning himself a place in the French team that prosecuted the European championships while Chalobah played on loan at lowly Lorient.
However, the Chelsea academy graduate could be a risk worth taking if his recent performances are anything to go by. Leboeuf thinks it would be redundant to still bring Kounde to Stamford Bridge with the emergence of Chalobah.

“He (Chalobah) had a very good Super Cup final game, then he had a very good game against Crystal Palace yesterday.
“I have doubts that Chelsea need another defender because they already have lots of defenders.
“I already said Kounde is a fantastic player and he should be playing for Chelsea, but you cannot make everyone happy.
“So, what’s the point in having Chalobah, (Kurt) Zouma, maybe (Andreas) Christensen or (Antonio) Rudiger or maybe Thiago Silva on the bench? He (Tuchel) will have to make choices. There are only two seats for five maybe six if Kounde comes.
“It’s too many. If Chalobah goes on like that, of course, they don’t need Kounde.”
