Written By Albert Echatah
Leeds United have apparently been informed of Manchester City’s asking price for midfielder Kalvin Phillips. The England international left Leeds in the summer of 2022 after Manchester City agreed to pay an initial cost of roughly £42 million.
More Details
Phillips was unable to break into Pep Guardiola’s squad, starting only two Premier League games in his first season with the Citizens.
The 28-year-old’s game time did not improve during the first half of the season, with only four Premier League substitute appearances before being loaned to West Ham United in January.
Unfortunately, Phillips has struggled at the London Stadium, starting only three league games since joining David Moyes’ team.
According to a recent story, Leeds wanted to bring Phillips back to Elland Road if they were promoted to the Premier League.
According to Football Insider, Manchester City is looking for a sum between £30 million and £40 million for the midfielder, who has four years left on his present contract. According to the source, Leeds and other interested parties may struggle to pay Phillips a salary comparable to what he presently makes at Manchester City.
