Patrick Bamford is entering the final year of his Leeds United contract after a seven-year spell that has seen both successes and criticisms.
More Details
Despite not starting or scoring in the league in 2024/25 due to injury (limiting him to 17 Championship games), he’s still a well-regarded player.

This season also saw Joel Piroe clinch the Golden Boot, including a four-goal haul against Stoke City. It’s unclear what the future holds for Bamford at Leeds United.
Despite the club’s recent promotion to the Premier League with Daniel Farke at the helm, many believe the 31-year-old striker will depart this summer. However, there haven’t been any official announcements regarding his situation.
So, Wrexham are reportedly interested in signing Bamford as the summer transfer window approaches in June. Although he’s still with Leeds United for now, there’s a good chance he might join another English club or even head overseas later in the summer, with the MLS being a potential destination he’d think about.
While celebrating Leeds United’s promotion in Las Vegas on CBS Sports Golazo, Bamford mentioned that moving to the MLS is something he’s discussed with his wife.

The Englishman added that playing abroad, particularly in America, was a career goal he had when he was younger, as it would give him the opportunity to experience a new country, lifestyle, and test himself in a different league.
“I think once you have a family and a wife it’s got to be run by them and to be fair they gave it the green light, and they said ‘look, we’re going to go with whatever’s for you and whatever challenge you want to want to take’, so it is something that I would be open to yeah, we just don’t know when yet.”
Even though the fans like him, Leeds United has to find a new striker to replace Bamford. They need someone who isn’t injured as often and is more suited to playing in the Premier League.
