Lionel Pushing For Luka Modric’s Inter Miami Switch As Bayer Leverkusen Chief Rubbishes Reports Linking Xabi Alonso With Real Madrid Job

Lionel Messi is is reportedly pushing for Inter Miami to sign Real Madrid’s unhappy veteran midfielder Luka Modric and has already approached co-owner David Beckham about a January swoop in big reference to the Croatian NT captain struggles for minutes in Spain under Carlo Ancelotti.

 Luka Modric mighty be heading to MLS in America by January with Lionel Messi pushing Inter Miami to make a move for Real Madrid icon during the next transfer window after falling down the pecking order at Real Madrid with Carlo Ancelotti starting him on the bench for four out of six LaLiga fixtures this season.

The midfielder has vowed to work hard to win back his place in the starting XI but opportunities are hard to come by for the 38-year-old given the depth in squad especially at the heart of midfield.

Messi believes it would be mutually beneficial for Inter Miami to purchase Modric during the January transfer window and according to former Real Madrid forward Pedja Mijatovic, Messi thinks Modric would be well suited to the league. 

Messi has approached Inter Miami’s co-owner David Beckham to discuss the potential transfer swoop.

Bayer Leverkusen chief Simon Rolfes has rubbished reports linking Xabi Alonso with the Real Madrid job next season following a brilliant start to the season with Leverkusen which has seen them take 16 points from 18 in the Bundesliga.

Rolfes revealed they are not worried about Alonso jumping ship just yet given that he signed a new deal recently which keeps him at the club until 2026.

“We got his commitment a few weeks ago, when he extended his contract”, Xabi doesn’t have to say anything. He has extended his contract. He’s fully focused here”, he told Mundo Deportivo.
