The 52 year old will team up with Steven Gerrard in Dammam where he’ll become Al Ettifaq’s new goalkeeper coach as confirmed by Jurgen Klopp.

“John Achterberg will be joining Al Ettifaq with Steven Gerrard, good luck to them”. He said during his press conference.

The Dutchman, who has been with Liverpool since 2009, and with the first team since 2011 will leave the club next month.

He will depart Liverpool at the end of the season to start a new adventure in the Saudi Pro League with Al Ettifaq.

Newly promoted Saudi Pro League side Al Qadisiyah are said to be interested in signing Olympique Lyonnais forward Alexandre Lacazette.

The striker has a year left on the contract he signed in 2022 on his reject to the club from Arsenal.
