More Details

The Ecuador international just celebrated his Bundesliga title with Xabi Alonso’s side, which won 5-0 over Werder Bremen over the weekend.

Hincapie played 77 minutes of the title-winning triumph on the left side of the Leverkusen XI, and he has also received praise for his performances in a three-man defensive this season.

However, the 22-year-old has faced stiff competition from Jonathan Tah, Odilon Kossounou, and Edmond Tapsoba at the back, while Alejandro Grimaldo is the first choice on the left wing when healthy.

However, according to German magazine Bild (via TEAMtalk), Tottenham have been closely studying Hincapie’s performances throughout the season and may make their own bid when the summer transfer window opens.

Spurs’ interest looks to be real, as the source states that the North London club has already contacted the defender’s representatives, but Leverkusen has no plans to sell him in the approaching window.

If Hincapie decides to leave the BayArena, Leverkusen is expected to want €40 million (£34.1 million) for his sale, a handsome return over the €6.4 million (£5.5 million) they paid for his services in 2021.

Meanwhile…

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has hinted that Kyle Walker could have a role in Wednesday’s Champions League match against Real Madrid.

Walker has not played for Manchester City since injuring his hamstring while representing England in a friendly against Brazil last month.

Walker missed Premier League games against Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace, as well as the opening leg of Man City’s Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid, which ended 3-3.
