Ugarte only joined Paris Saint-Germain last year after spending €60 million (£51 million) to leave Sporting Lisbon, but he is already being linked to a move away from the French team.

In his debut season at PSG, the midfielder made 37 appearances in the competitive league; however, he did not start any of the team’s Champions League knockout matches.

Ugarte’s overall performances appear to have disappointed PSG manager Luis Enrique, who is willing to let him depart Parc des Princes this summer.

Man United are among the favourites to sign him before the 2024–25 season begins, having already expressed interest in him.

Jorge Chijane, Ugarte’s agent, brought up Liverpool during a recent conversation on what lies ahead for his client. Chijane told O Jogo: “Liverpool? There is a lot of talk but it is not the only club, there are others. There are many possibilities on the table.”

According to reports, Premier League clubs have approved the introduction of a development plan that will curb spending beginning with the 2025–2026 season.

The spending cap proposals were approved by 16 teams, and their goal is to keep the gap between the Premier League’s lower-half teams and its financial titans from growing.

Nevertheless, a report from BBC Sport claims that three teams vying for European football—Manchester United, Manchester City, and Aston Villa—are thought to have voted against the proposal.
