Spanish midfielder, Gavi has had a breakout season and the club are looking to tie him down to a new deal as his current contract expires in 2023.
The Blaugrana were having difficulty in the negotiations, giving room for other clubs to try and steal the young talent, who has a €50 million release clause in his contract.
According to Diario Sport, Liverpool May have failed in their bid to sign Gavi as he’s poised to renew his contract with the club and the announcement may come as early as next week.
Despite his age (17yrs) he has played consistently for both club and country and his performances hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Just like they did with Pedri, Ansu Fati and Ronald Araujo, Barca will include a €1 billion release clause in the contract, but there’s no details yet on the figures pertaining to his salary.

Manchester United on the other hand are set to open official channels with Barcelona about the possibility of signing Netherlands midfielder, Frankie De Jong and reports has it that the Blaugrana will be open to selling the player.

They will be demanding for a fee of about €85 million, to at least recoup all of the fee they paid to sign him few years back. De Jong on his part had declared that his future is at the Camp Nou.
But should he leave, he would like to play in the UEFA Champions League and the Red Devils managed to miss out on UCL football after finishing 6th in the English Premier League. The possibility of linking up with Erik Ten Hag, his former coach at Ajax, where he played his best football could be the most deciding factor.
