Liverpool’s Audacious Plan To Sign Kylian Mbappe Revealed

Written By Onyeka Daniel

It’s no longer a secret that French club, PSG is looking to sell their star striker, Kylian Mbappe after the player made it known that he won’t be renewing his expiring contract with the club, meaning he will be free to leave the club next season.

More Details

It’s also well known that he would like to join Spanish LaLiga side, Real Madrid and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is said to be particularly incensed after the 24-year-old’s obstinate rejection of Saudi Arabian interest. Al-Hilal haf lodged a jaw-dropping world-record £259m offer, which would allow Mbappe to move to Real Madrid in one year’s time, an offer which the player rejected.

While the French club will now look to get as much as they can get for him this summer, Real Madrid are trying to play hardball, hoping to either sign him for a low fee now, or bring him in next season when his contract expires. But they may have to be wary of the interest from EPL clubs.

Of course, there are several clubs in England with the financial muscle to make a deal with the French club, including Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and possibly Arsenal, but it would require much persuasion to convince the player to join any of these clubs.

Liverpool have an advantage over the others as Mbappe is said to have a soft spot for the Reds and has publicly stated that they’re the only club in England he could possibly join. Mbappe has previously revealed that he spoke to Liverpool before joining PSG from Monaco.

According to a report from the Mirror, Liverpool will present a loan offer to PSG with an obligation to sign next season and they should have no problem agreeing personal terms with the player, if they can convince him to shelve his dream of playing at the Santiago Bernabeu for now.

For now, it’s still unclear how PSG will respond to this kind of offer or if Mbappe will be willing to join Liverpool, but with the club dropping to the Europa League competition for the coming season, it would certainly prove very hard to convince the Frenchman to make the switch to the Anfield Stadium and with his contract set to expire anyway, PSG will only be looking at an outright sales after dropping the player from their first team activities.

Well, it certainly seems unlikely that Jurgen Klopp’s side could secure the services of one of the world’s most sensational footballers in Mbappe this summer, but that has not stopped several reports from England from revealing that the club are in talks with PSG. The France captain is entering the final year of his contract with the Ligue 1 champions and offers no hope of renewing his current deal.

Liverpool’s emphasis this summer has been on strengthening the midfield and adding to the defence; Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have both arrived to contribute to the former – with negotiations to sign holding midfielder Romeo Lavia ongoing – while there is an indication that the Anfield side will accelerate plans to sign a new centre-back.

But no club can possibly pass up the opportunity to sign Mbappe, especially not Liverpool, despite having enough firepower upfront. Diogo Jota and Luiz Diaz are nearing full fitness after missing a lot of last season injured.

Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez will now be more settled in Liverpool and adapted to the PL, and Mohamed Salah certainly needs no justification. Adding Mbappe to that equation will surely leave fans of the club salivating and make them the envy of other clubs.

Meanwhile…

Two EPL sides, Everton and Aston Villa have both set their sights on a move for Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior, according to reports from Italy. Few days ago, UEFA announced that the Italian club have been banned from the European Conference League for the 2023/24 season.

This has left them without any European commitments. It also means that they would have to reduce their squad size and overall squad wage bill by selling off some of their players. According to the report, Juventus could end up selling Iling-Junior this summer.

The 19-year-old broke into Massimiliano Allegri’s first team last season, where he made 18 appearances across all competitions. The winger scored against Atalanta and provided assists against Benfica and Lecce. For now, no figure has been quoted.
