Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp Reveals Potential Return Date For Alisson Becker
Written By Albert Echatah
When can Reds fans expect to see first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker return to action? Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided a new update on the subject.
More Details
The Brazil international had a hamstring injury and then had a sickness bug, so he hasn’t been seen in a Liverpool shirt since the team’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal in February.
Alisson has therefore missed Liverpool’s previous ten games in all competitions, but over the past few months, his backup, Caoimhin Kelleher, has performed above expectations in goal.
While the Irishman was in goal, Liverpool continued their pursuit of the Premier League title against strong opposition from Arsenal and Manchester City. They also won the 2023–24 EFL Cup and advanced to the Europa League quarterfinals.
During a visit of Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre in Kirkby, Klopp spoke to Reds supporters before of their Premier League matchup against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday. One fan asked him, “How’s Alisson?”
With a smile, the German answered, “Two and a half to three weeks.” It’s not that long anymore “, implying that, barring any new setbacks, a return in mid-April is likely.

Manchester United have announced that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s official 27.7% takeover of the team in exchange for a £1.3 billion agreement has now been completed.
Ratcliffe said: ‘To become co-owner of Manchester United is a great honour and comes with great responsibility.
‘This marks the completion of the transaction, but just the beginning of our journey to take Manchester United back to the top of English, European and world football, with world-class facilities for our fans. Work to achieve those objectives will accelerate from today.’
