Luke Deserves Alll The Luck He Can Get.” Solskjaer

Written by Jacobs Dunga

Luke Shaw shone like a million stars at the European Championship and it has come to the delight of club coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is pleased with the form of the left back heading into the new season.

Shaw had his place under threat last season after the arrival of Alex Telles from FC Porto seemed to spell the beginning of Shaw’s end at Manchester United but the 26-year-old responded in brilliant fashion by making the left back spot his.

Solksjaer who is gearing up for the new season has nothing but praise for the left back.

Speaking in the aftermath of Shaw’s superb performance in the final he echoed, “I’m so happy for Luke. I was watching it and ‘what’s just happened?’” Solskjaer is quoted by the Metro.

“He started the attack and we’ve encouraged him to get into the last third.

“We know how technically gifted he is and skilful he is and he hit the ball very, very sweetly. He keeps his eye on the ball, straight laces and it’s margins again – off the post and in, not off the post and out.

“That’s football for you. Luke deserves all the luck he can get. He’s had a tremendous couple of years with us.”

The England international returned with three assists and a solitary goal from the tournament where he was preferred ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League winner, Ben Chilwell
