The four-time National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) champions took two lessons from the Olympics, where USWNT went on an indomitable streak en route to digging gold.

Advocating for and believing in oneself, as well as supporting the team fully, are the key lessons from the year and women’s football tournament of the Olympics.

“Something that I am hoping to take with me doesn’t have to do with soccer. I guess two things,” She told US Soccer.

“One, just advocating for yourself and truly believing in yourself. I don’t believe I could get beyond the roster if I don’t put myself out there and advocate for myself and say that I am ready promising to be ready and show that I am going to be ready.

“And then secondly, fully support people. Maybe being in a position that you want to be and also feel that support back. Thank you so much for supporting me in this position.

“I don’t know how to describe that, but it is just an amazing feeling that I will just take with me for the rest of my life and everything I do. How incredible it felt to be giant, a family that supported each other.” She concluded.

After getting her first cap and goal in 2016, Williams went on to win a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics before digging gold with Emma Hayes’s side at Paris 2024.

She has won the NWSL title four times in 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2023.
