Lyon Give Injury Updates On Van de Donk, Catarina Macario

French D1 Arkema side, Olympique Lyonnais has provided more details on the state of health of their Dutch international Danielle Van de Donk and American Catarina Macario, who sustained injuries during the international break with their respective teams.

The club in a press release on its website outlined the extent of both players’ injuries.

Coming out in the 73rd minute of the Czech Republic vs Netherlands qualifying game for the World Cup qualifiers, midfielder Danielle Van de Donk suffered a traumatic rupture of the right fore leg. Danielle Van de Donk was operated on Tuesday, November 30 in the Netherlands, where she has just started her rehabilitation
She should be out from the field for a minimum of 4 months.

During the match with the United States, Catarina Macario experienced pain in her groin. The player is back in Lyon on Tuesday. The in-depth examinations on the player revealed a grade 2 muscle injury to the right adductor. The young American international should be able to reunite with Sonia Bompastor’s group within ten days.

Finally, Olympique Lyonnais (Lyon) also pointed out that Damaris Egurrola, injured in the Women’s Champion’s League match against Bayern Munich, underwent surgery on her left ankle last Friday following a ligament rupture. The midfielder is expected to be unavailable for an estimated period of two to three months.
