The 30-year-old has played for the Citizens for the past seven seasons, appearing in 332 games across all competitions while maintaining 155 clean sheets.

Since being signed by Pep Guardiola, Ederson—who is recognised as one of the top goalkeepers in the world of football—has been Man City’s unchallenged number one and has played a significant role in the team’s recent success.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that if Ederson receives a “good proposal” this summer, leaving Man City is a “possibility”.

Romano continues, “Saudi Pro League teams have already shown interest in signing Ederson, who will ultimately decide whether to stay with the Citizens or look for new opportunities.”

If Ederson were to go, Man City would have to look for a successor on the transfer market, but Stefan Ortega might get promoted and become the team’s first-choice custodian instead, according to Guardiola.

According to reports, Premier League clubs have approved the introduction of a development plan that will curb spending beginning with the 2025–2026 season.

The spending cap proposals were approved by 16 teams, and their goal is to keep the gap between the Premier League’s lower-half teams and its financial titans from growing.

Nevertheless, a report from BBC Sport claims that three teams vying for European football—Manchester United, Manchester City, and Aston Villa—are thought to have voted against the proposal.
