Tottenham Hotspur 1–5 Manchester City

Manchester City made it two wins from three matches with a ruthless display in North London, ending Spurs’ perfect start to the campaign.

City suffered an early setback when Lauren Hemp limped off injured after 20 minutes, but quickly took control through Aoba Fujino, whose strike crept past goalkeeper Lize Kop.

Vivianne Miedema doubled the lead with a header from Alex Greenwood’s corner, before Kerstin Casparij nodded in a third just before the break.

City had the chance to extend their advantage further from the spot after Clare Hunt fouled Fujino, but Khadija Shaw’s penalty was saved by Kop.

Substitute Grace Clinton added a fourth late on, assisted by Kerolin, before Olivia Holdt pulled one back for Spurs with a long-range strike. Laura Coombs restored the four-goal cushion in stoppage time to seal a dominant 5-1 win.

Everton 1–2 London City Lionesses

History was made at Goodison Park as London City Lionesses claimed their first-ever WSL victory, upsetting Everton in front of 4,313 fans.

Isobel Goodwin fired the visitors ahead after 13 minutes with a thumping effort off the underside of the crossbar. The forward doubled her tally early in the second half, converting from Nikita Parris’ pass after good build-up play by Ornella Vignola.

Everton threatened a comeback when Jana Fernandez fouled Yuka Momiki in the box. Momiki stepped up to convert the resulting penalty, but the Lionesses held firm to secure a landmark win.

Sunderland 2–1 Durham (WSL2)

In the second tier, Sunderland came out on top in a fiercely contested derby against Durham, a result that sent them to the top of the WSL2 standings.

Emily Scarr opened the scoring shortly after halftime, heading home from Izzy Atkinson’s flick-on.

Katie Kitching appeared to put the game beyond doubt with a stunning 25-yard strike five minutes from time, only for Beth Hepple to glance in a header two minutes later to set up a nervy finish. Sunderland, however, held on to claim all three points in front of 903 supporters.
