One of the Red Devils’ best prospects, the 18-year-old missed out on his opportunity to make an impact early in the 2023–24 season because of an ankle injury he suffered during the preseason.

After recovering from the condition over several months, Mainoo is now out of the treatment room. Erik ten Hag put his trust in the teenager from the opening whistle of last weekend’s 3-0 Premier League victory over Everton.

Mainoo is currently paid a meager £10,000 per week at the Theatre of Dreams, but according to a stipulation in his contract, he will soon be paid £20,000 per week. This information was reported by the Daily Star.

Instead of Man United and Mainoo reaching a new agreement, it appears that the midfielder’s current contracts have a clause stating that his pay will increase after he establishes himself as a first-team regular.

According to the article, Mainoo is “close” to earning an additional £10,000 per week and would already be receiving a better pay if he hadn’t spent a few months in the treatment room. However, his salary raise hasn’t been activated yet.

Meanwhile…

Erik ten Hag is anxious to prevent Jadon Sancho from making a “empty gesture,” therefore Manchester United is apparently willing to accept a “significant loss” on him.

Sancho has a disruptive impact on the rest of United’s team, according to manager Ten Hag, who is determined to get rid of the winger.

This season, Sancho and Ten Hag had a nasty falling out, with the Dutchman publicly criticizing his player in the media for his lack of effort in practice. After spending £73 million on him in 2021, United is now willing to suffer a “significant loss” on the player in the January transfer window.
