With the entrance of minority stakeholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who formally completed his 27.7% acquisition of the club last week, significant off-field changes have already occurred at Old Trafford.

Despite the Glazer family’s continued majority ownership of the Red Devils, Ratcliffe, a British millionaire who serves as both the chairman and CEO of INEOS, will be in complete control of the team’s football operations.

The Mirror reports that Man United would prioritise adding a new forward, central midfielder, and central defender among their three transfer targets before the 2024–25 season.

The Red Devils will need to make money from player sales in order to go by Financial Fair Play rules. As a result, up to 11 first-team players may be offered for sale this summer.

Donny van de Beek and Facundo Pellistri, who are presently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt and Granada, respectively, are reportedly set to leave Man United, according to a recent report.

Two other players who are now on loan and are no longer considered necessary at Old Trafford are Jadon Sancho and Brandon Williams, the former at Borussia Dortmund and the latter at Ipswich Town.

Manchester United have announced that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s official 27.7% takeover of the team in exchange for a £1.3 billion agreement has now been completed.

Ratcliffe said: ‘To become co-owner of Manchester United is a great honour and comes with great responsibility.

‘This marks the completion of the transaction, but just the beginning of our journey to take Manchester United back to the top of English, European and world football, with world-class facilities for our fans. Work to achieve those objectives will accelerate from today.’
