Manchester City’s Injury Woes Deepen Ahead Of Manchester Derby

Manchester City have been handed a fresh injury blow ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Manchester United after Omar Marmoush was forced off for Egypt in World Cup qualifying.

Just nine minutes into the clash against Burkina Faso, the 26-year-old went down clutching his knee and looked to be in severe pain on the pitch.



He was ultimately forced off and Pep Guardiola now faces a nervous wait to see if the forward shall be fit for Sunday’s derby.

Manchester City is dealing with a new injury concern ahead of Sunday’s derby against Manchester United. Forward Omar Marmoush had to leave a World Cup qualifying match for Egypt after just nine minutes with a knee injury.

This adds to a growing list of injuries for City, which already includes Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol, Josko Gvardiol, Marcus Bettinelli, and Kalvin Phillips.

There are also concerns about several other players, including John Stones and Phil Foden. Marmoush has appeared in all three of City’s Premier League games this season, starting the last two and providing an assist.

After receiving a suspension, Casemiro returned to Manchester United’s training ground, Carrington, early from Brazil’s national team to prepare for the upcoming derby. His early return is a positive development for the team’s less severe injury situation.

Despite being injured against Burnley, Matheus Cunha has been posting positive social media updates about his recovery, which caused him to withdraw from the squad.

In other injury news, Lisandro Martinez, who has been sidelined long-term, might be fit to play against City. Mason Mount, who was also injured against the Clarets, is also a question mark and his status will be determined by Amorim.
