English Premier League side, Manchester United have been found guilty of breaching the financial fair play rules set by UEFA for European clubs and have been fined according, but they face no other sanction or ban as is usually the case because their offence is not that much.

The Red Devils alongside Barcelona are among the clubs to have been fined by UEFA for breaching FFP regulations by the European governing body. United have been fined £257,000 for “minor break-even deficits”.
“While disappointed by the outcome, Manchester United accepts this fine for what UEFA acknowledges to be a minor technical breach of its previous Financial Fair Play rules,” United said in a statement.

This will not in anyway affect their transfer plans but they will have to be cautious so as to be able to comply for the future. Barcelona were fined £428,000 for wrongly reporting “profits on disposal of intangible assets” in 2022. Cypriot side APOEL and Turkey’s Konyaspor were fined £86,000 each for the same offence as United.
Turkish clubs Istanbul Basaksehir and Trabzonspor, Belgian champions Royal Antwerp and Anderlecht were among other teams to receive fines. The decisions follow the last round of monitoring using FFP rules that have been replaced by new sustainability regulations announced last year which will come into effect after this coming season.
A group of high-profile European clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Inter, who agreed settlements with UEFA in September last year, have fulfilled targets set for the financial year 2022. UEFA added that these clubs will continue to be monitored for compliance next season.

Former Manchester City defender, Benjamin Mendy, was unanimously acquitted in his trial on Friday, his second of the last 12 months and left court as a free man after being found not guilty of the multiple counts of rape and sexual assault he was charged with two years ago.
Mendy wept as the verdict was read out, before issuing a brief statement through his lawyers in which he did not state whether he plans to return to professional football. “It has been almost three years since the police started investigating this matter,” the statement read.

“Mr Mendy has tried to remain strong but the process has, inevitably had a serious impact on him. “He thanks everyone who has supported him throughout this ordeal and now asks for privacy so he can begin rebuilding his life.” Mendy signed for City for £52m in 2017, a world-record fee for a defender at the time, but injuries and off-field issues meant that the club never saw the best of him.
His last appearance for them came in a Premier League game at Tottenham in August 2021 shortly before he was charged by the police, and his contract ran out at the end of last month. That means he is free to negotiate with clubs over a potential move this summer, should any sides come forward with an interest in signing him.
Having not played any level of football in two years, Mendy must now decide if he wants to return to bring a professional and where he could go if so. He will now have to decide what the rest of his football career will look like after being cleared of all charges against him.
