In the summer, English Premier League side, Manchester United will be on the lookout for a coach to help guide the team and lead them from their present bad form.

More Details

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked as United head coach earlier this season with Ralf Rangnick coming in as temporary replacement, to help steady the ship for the rest of the season.

However, with Rangnick expected to move into a football consultancy role ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, United need a permanent boss, and club legendary midfielder, Roy Keane believes the club should go for Atletico Madrid coach, Diego Simeone.

According to an interview as reported by Goal, the Irishman sees the Argentine as the ideal man to lead the Red Devils to glory, when asked about the coach the club should be going for in the summer.

“Maybe Simeone, he’s the right kind of character. He’s having a difficult spell at Atletico and maybe his race is run with them” “Simeone, go and get him, he’s a big character. He’s done great things.

“He doesn’t mess around with players. Maybe someone like him coming in could work. “I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom, there’s still good things going on at United, but they’ve got to get the manager.

“If the manager is not right, then the rest will just fall apart.” Simeone’s Atletico have been in having bad run of form lately, going from winning the La Liga title last season to fighting for a top four placing this season and the real possibility of missing on UCL football next season.

He could be tempted to leave the Los Rojiblancos as his current contract with the club runs until the end of the 2022/23 season and the possibility of a new challenge could be tempting enough, if United match his current salary in Madrid.

Atletico Madrid could send their midfield, Saul Niguez to Barcelona next season if English Premier League side, Chelsea fail to make his loan move permanent at the end of the season.

Niguez, who left Atletico on loan but has found it hard to command a starting shirt at the Stamford Bridge this season will most likely be sent back. The player has already set his heart on leaving the club, so therefore, he could be sent to Barca.

The deal could be either on loan or on a permanent, with the Los Rojiblancos using him as a makeweight to pay some off some of the fees owed to the Blaugrana over the Antoine Griezmann deal.

Before joining Chelsea, Niguez was mentioned as a possible counterpart that would be exchanged in the Griezmann deal but both teams couldn’t agree on the valuation of the player, hence the deal was abandoned.
