Written By Onyeka Daniel

After securing UEFA champions league football for the 2023/24 season, Manchester United are making preparations for a return to Europe’s elite competition and top on their list of priority is the signing of a striker.

More Details

Spurs forward, Harry Kane has always been the dream signing, but it looks like the Red Devils have decided to take a different approach to strengthen their attack. The Red Devils have been overly reliant on Marcus Rashford for goals, and the English international needs more support from his teammates.

Erik ten Hag must look to bring in a reliable striker this summer. Apart from Kane, Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen has also been mentioned, but it looks like a move for Atalanta young forward, Rasmus Hojlund would be the more realistic option.

Hojlund has proven his quality since joining the Italian club at the start of the season, and he has 16 goals and seven assists to his name across song competitions. He has a big future ahead of him and has been likened to Manchester City forward, Erling Haaland. The opportunity to join a club like Manchester United could prove to be hard to turn down.

The club will have to submit a substantial offer to sign the 20-year-old striker in the summer. Hojlund has been previously valued at €60 million and it remains to be seen whether the EPL side are ready to pay up.

Erik ten Hag has a proven record of nurturing talented young players into established stars, well known from his tim3 at Ajqx and he could help the 20-year-old fulfil his world-class potential.

The Red Devils will hope to challenge for the Premier League title next season, and they will have to address the gaps in their squad in order to compete with clubs like Manchester City.

For Kane, a move to Real Madrid looks more realistic as the Los Blancos will be on the lookout for quality striker to replace Karim Benzema who recently moved to Saudi Arabia but it’s always tiugh negotiating with Daniel Levy who has already placed a price tag of over €100 million on the England captain, hence it is hardly surprising why Manchester United decided to withdraw from the race.

Meanwhile…

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to make a player plus cash offer for Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bono and the player to offered is young midfielder, Bryan Gil. The young midfielder was signed by Spurs from the Andalusian club but was loaned back to them after failing to adapt to life with the EPL club.

After rediscovering his form once again with Sevilla, he will now return back to England, but it may not be for long. In a bid to solve their goalkeeper problem, Spurs are looking at several options.

But they’re very limited in how much they’re to spend, which is why they’re less inclined to signed David Raya from Brentford who would have cost about €40 million, moving for Bono instead.

The deal for the 30-years old as a whole, is said to be worth in the region of €30m, and Sevilla could look to sell Bono this summer, with the Moroccan having lost his place as first-choice goalkeeper to Marko Dmitrovic. The inclusion of Gil will further bring down the bring, possibly to around €10 or €15 million.
