Manchester United Women have completed the signing of Fridolina Rolfö on a contract until June 2027.

More Details

The transfer is subject to registration, following four successful years at FC Barcelona.

The 31-year-old Sweden international recently earned her 100th cap at the UEFA Women’s European Championship, marking the occasion with a goal against Germany — her 33rd at senior level.

Rolfö, a versatile left-sided player capable of excelling in both attack and defence, has made 313 senior club appearances and scored 113 goals with Barcelona, VfL Wolfsburg, and Bayern Munich.

At Barcelona, she lifted two UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) trophies and four Primera División titles among a host of honours.

Fridolina Rolfö said:

“It’s really exciting to be joining Manchester United, not just because of the size and history of the club, but also to become part of the journey the club is on in the women’s game. I have been fortunate to enjoy a lot of success at Barcelona and other clubs, and now I want the same at Manchester United. The WSL is probably the strongest league in the world right now, so that was a big part of the appeal, along with the chance to help the team establish itself in the Champions League. I can’t wait to work with Marc, his staff and my new team-mates.”

Matt Johnson, Manchester United Director of Women’s Football, added:

“Fridolina is one of the most talented and successful players in the women’s game, both at club and international level. She brings quality, experience, and a winning mentality, with over 20 major honours and 100 international caps. Her signing underlines our ambition to compete at the highest level domestically and in Europe. We are delighted to welcome her to Manchester United.”

With the acquisition of Rolfo, United hope to have a good performance in the UWCL with the aim of competing with the best teams on the continent.

They qualified for the competition from the English Women’s Super League (WSL) alongside champions, Chelsea and Arsenal FC.
