Few days ago, the Red Devils made a bid for Bologna striker, Marko Arnautovic, which was subsequently rejected.
They were prepared to make an improved offer on their last €8 million plus add-ons, but between Bologna’s stance that the player isn’t for sell at any price and the protest from their own fans over the move, they’ve been forced to abandon that route.
Accusations of racist language resurfaced against the Austria international and now attention has now been turned to Atletico Madrid striker, Alvaro Morata.
Morata, spent the last two seasons on loan at Juventus, but the two teams failed to reach an agreement over his permanent transfer and he eventually returned to Spain.
With a quoted fee of about €30 million, it is still unclear how the English side will move at this point, but the Los Rojiblancos will be open to the move as they look to trim their squad.
Morata himself isn’t new to the English Premier League as he played for Chelsea at some point in his career.
Juventus are also interested in the Spaniard, but they aren’t prepared to pay over the top for the striker as he would be playing as backup to their top striker, Dusan Vlahovic.
Meanwhile…
Barcelona midfielder, Alex Collado could be set for a move to Scottish side, Celtic as the player is now surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou, after their summer spending spree.

Collado spent the last six months on loan and was very impressive, with coach, Xavi Hernandez considering him a good squad player, but with the influx of players to the club, he could find himself struggling for much playing time at the club, hence another loan move will do him some good at this point in his career.
Collado, 23, has come up through the ranks with Barcelona having joined from local neighbours Espanyol back in 2010.
