Written By Albert Echatah

Following Sporting CP recent championship victory in Portugal, Viktor Gyokeres stated that he is uncertain about what his future holds. He couldn’t predict what would happen next for him.

More Details

Sporting CP clinched the Primeira Liga title on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Vitoria de Guimaraes, a match in which Gyokeres scored.

This goal marked his 39th in just 33 league appearances this season, in addition to six Champions League goals. His exceptional performance has led to speculation about a summer transfer, with Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly interested.

When asked about his future with Sporting, the Swedish striker admitted he is uncertain, stating, “I don’t know what’s going to happen. Nobody can predict the future.”

Arsenal appears to be a more attractive destination for Gyokeres next season due to their strong potential for winning trophies. Although they haven’t secured a trophy since 2020, they’re on track to finish second in the league for the third consecutive season.

If Arsenal can avoid a major injury crisis in the 2025-26 season, they are expected to be serious contenders for the title. Furthermore, manager Mikel Arteta can offer Gyokeres the chance to play alongside established stars like Bukayo Saka, which could be a significant draw.

Manchester United, currently as low as 17th in the Premier League, might still offer 26-year-old Viktor Gyokeres Champions League football if they win the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, who previously coached Gyokeres at Sporting CP, could leverage their past working relationship to persuade him to join, emphasizing his ability to maximize the striker’s potential.

However, given Manchester United’s need to sign several players this summer, a move to Old Trafford could be a more uncertain prospect for Gyokeres.
