The Italian who hours ago left his role as the manager of the Italian national aide could be on his way to Saudi Arabia.

Mancini led Italy to Euro 2020 triumph but did not have the best of spells following the triumph at the European Championships.

He has now left his position with the Azzurri and is now being considered by the Asian country to take over the job of the national team.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that a salary circa €18m has been put forward for the former Inter manager to take over and other reports have it that a three year deal is on the table.

The 58 year old has yet to comment on the ongoing reports but Di Marzio confirmed the interest has been there for a while.

Meanwhile…

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has explained his reasons for leaving the Premier League for a move to the Saudi Pro League.

The 33 year old signed for Al Ettifaq coached by another former Reds captain Steven Gerrard.

Henderson has now revealed that the former England captain is one of the main reasons he accepted the offer.

“It’s exciting times, the project and something different is definitely a reason why I wanted to come here,” he explained in an interview with Beanyman Sports.

“Over the next few years, I’m sure it’ll grow and I want to be part of that. I love football so I want to try and go all over the world and I know the people in Saudi love football.

“Hopefully, we can keep continuing to grow the league over the next few years and I can be a big part of that.

“Stevie [Gerrard] was a big reason why I came, to work with him and play under him.”

The Englishman will earn £700k weekly compared to his below £200k take home while at Liverpool.
