The Italian former international turned coach was appointed the manager of Al Akhdar in August, 2023.
He spent less than a year as coach of the side before reaching a mutual agreement with SAFF to rescind his contract.
During his time as the leader of the side, questions about his tactical acumen were asked as performances dropped beyond expectations.
After exiting the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in the second round, Mancini’s side fell to some disappointing losses in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
It was these series of uninspiring results that triggered the cancellation of his contract as Al Akhdar head coach.
He has since been replaced by familiar face Herve Renard who has revived the spirit in the Green Falcons camp and also restored qualification hopes.
Speaking during a recent interview, Ali Al Bulaihi strongly criticized the former Inter manager.

The Al Hilal defender asked questions of Mancini’s tactical and man managerial skills, both on and off the pitch.
“Mancini is one of the worst coaches I’ve had in my career, both humanly and tactically, on and off the pitch! Can you believe it? During a camp, he told the whole squad that we didn’t know how to play football! At least that’s what the translator told us. How can you talk like that about the national team players? Before he arrived, we had played in the last two World Cups. May God watch over him anyway…” He said as per @NadeenaShow.
Roberto Mancini’s coaching career started beautifully with early honours across Italy and England before taking a downward spiral.
