Interestingly, since Pellegrini joined Betis, only Willian Jose, Luiz Henrique, and German Pezzella have cost Real Betis any money, and despite winning the Copa del Rey, there won’t be any more additions this summer.
Pellegrini indicated that it was not financially feasible to Mundo Deportivo before Betis’ season-opening match against Elche.
“There is no expectation of further reinforcements. We would have liked to analyse it from a different point of view, but there is an economic situation that means we cannot do so. The objective is to keep the squad as strong as possible following the exits of Joel, [Cristian] Tello and now [Marc] Bartra.”
“It allows us to replace them just like last year. The sporting criteria, the work of Antonio [Cordon, Sporting Director] and the arrival of important players for free has allowed us to maintain our footballing strength.”
Real Betis should be able to register their new acquisitions from this summer as well as those who have signed new contracts thanks to proposed transfer of Marc Bartra which Pellegrini also confirmed.
Many Beticos had held out the hope that Hector Bellerin, who spent the previous season on loan from Arsenal, may return to Betis this summer.

Meanwhile…
Real Betis is currently concerned about their salary cap as they struggle to sign their new players for the current season. But if Marc Bartra makes a U-turn, they might be able to breathe easier.
A year is still left on the 31-year-old defender’s contract at Betis, but he also earns one of the better incomes at the Benito Villamarin.
His sale should enable them to register their new recruits, claims Mundo Deportivo.
