Marcus Rashford's Permanent Barcelona Stay A Possibility

Barcelona are reportedly keen to retain Marcus Rashford beyond the end of the season after being impressed by his impact since arriving on loan from Manchester United.

The England international joined the Catalan side last summer following a successful loan spell at Aston Villa in the second half of the previous campaign.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barça are planning to activate the purchase option included in Rashford’s loan agreement believed to be worth around €30 million. The initial loan reportedly cost the club €5 million.

Rashford has delivered solid returns during his time at the club, registering seven goals and 11 assists in 26 appearances, earning consistent praise from head coach Hansi Flick. Several outlets report that Barcelona fully intend to make the move permanent in the summer.

However, the key challenge will be registering the forward under La Liga’s financial regulations. In that regard, the expected departure of Iñigo Martínez this summer is seen as crucial in creating the necessary salary space, just as it was to accommodate Rashford’s loan registration this season.

Rashford has settled in well at Barcelona, forged strong relationships with his teammates and his versatility is especially valued by the Catalan giants.
