More Details
Mariano Diaz is one of the players who could leave the team, according to multiple reports from Diario AS (via Madrid Zone). The 29-year-old has dropped down the pecking order and is not included in Carlo Ancelotti’s plan.
The 29-year-old was formerly a member of Olympique Lyon, but he hasn’t played a single minute of league football yet this year. He played just five minutes of the Champions League match against RB Leipzig in his first outing of the year.
At Real Madrid in the past, Diaz had issues with playing time. Since returning to Santiago Bernabeu, he has failed to even appear in a combined total of 2000 minutes of league play.
Los Blancos would prefer to approve his sale during the upcoming January transfer window, but they are likely to release him in 2023. Although it won’t be shocking to see the club provide the attacker a letter of freedom, it might help them bring in some type of income.
When it comes to the club’s efforts to further cut the team, Diaz’s departure from Santiago Bernabeu may be a positive step. However, with Karim Benzema approaching the end of his career, it is imperative for the team to add reinforcements in the area of goal scoring.

Real Madrid are considering Brahim Diaz as an option to replace Marco Asensio when the Spanish attacker leaves the club as a free agent next summer, according to a report from El Español.
Brahim is currently playing for AC Milan on a loan deal which expires in 2023, so Madrid will have to make a decision about his future.
While Brahim has been decent for Milan, it’s also true that his performances during the 2021-2022 season were a bit disappointing. He’s not an undisputed starter anymore but it looks like Madrid saw enough to consider him a good option for that bench role.
