Mariona Caldentey: “It Was Clear That I Wanted To Stay At Barcelona”

After putting pen to paper and extending her contract with FC Barcelona till 2024, Mariona Caldentey says she is happy with her decision and wants to stay at the Catalan side.

“When you are happy in a place and you have the chance to be at Barça then the decision is easy. It was very clear that I wanted to be here and today is a happy day for me.
“I feel at home and that has changed a lot from when I signed my first contract to signing today. Let’s hope this path together lasts for years.”
Mariona opined that Barcelona as a team is an entertaining side that should be taken advantage of.
She said: “We have created a group and a team in which I can enjoy myself and I think we entertain people. We have to take advantage of these years.”

According to a report from Sport, FC Barcelona players such as Jenni Hermoso, Lieke Martens, Oshoala, or Marta Torrejón, among others will be renewing their contracts in the coming weeks.
Alexia Putellas and Mariona Caldentey recently signed a new deal with the European Champions.
Jenni Hermoso, Lieke Martens, Asisat Oshoala, Mapi León, Aitana Bonmatí, Leila Ouahabi, Marta Torrejon, Ana Crnogorcevic, Gemma Font, Melanie Serrano, Laia Codina, and Candela Andujar are expected to extend their contracts very soon.
